Katrina joined Virginia Cooperative Extension in March 2012 as the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Extension Agent for Petersburg City. 

FCS programs address the needs of families and individuals as identified by city residents and the Extension Leadership Council. In a holistic approach, the FCS program offers research-based information in the areas of nutrition and health, financial management, and family and human development throughout the life span.

In her role, Katrina shares practical information regarding parenting, childcare, elder care, personal finance for youth and adults, nutrition/meal planning, and food safety. She works collaboratively and in partnership with Extension colleagues, volunteers, public agencies, and other community partners to serve individuals and families in their communities, homes, and workplaces.

Katrina is a member of the Virginia Extension Service Association (VESA), Virginia Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (VEAFCS), and National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS) and sits on several community boards and organizations.

With a strong background in financial management, Katrina has worked as a real estate agent, a risk specialist for Capitol One Bank, and a substitute teacher for Richmond Public Schools. She has also participated in 4-H volunteer work within the Southeast District.
